So I initially sat on the "thought" of remixing and paying homage to Ms. Lauryn Hill, for months. Why? I didn't think I could do it justice or I should ever touch such a classic. Well I smacked myself with the realness and said why not? This is music that moves the soul and I will do my best to compliment that. L-Boogie is such an amazing artist, this will probably the closest I will ever get to collaborating with her lol.

New Music and a Strange Place

Ok so I've released a new EP  titled "Divine Pain".  I wrote a recent message on Facebook describing why I chose that name for the title.

"This project was purely therapeutic. As you may or may not know, I battle with severe depression, so instead of wallowing in my darkness...my craft is my anchoring light that allows me to lift above my pain...which to me, is Divine. Divine Pain."

To be honest it is uncomfortable to talk about but when I put the pen to the paper, when the words release from my lips into the mic, when they greet the instrumental, it becomes a mirror, allowing me to see myself and face my inner fears. This is what I needed. My creative...I NEED THAT.

The theme can be summed up by the wise words of Kahlil Gibran:

I love this awesome artwork by Sit Haiiro. I think I may have posted it on here before, not quite sure. Either way it is such a moving piece and summed up the condition of my heart at the time.

Activated

My Writer's Cove has been activated. Retreat is inevitable until I release what I need. Working on something(s) that I hope come out remarkable. It is always a battle of what I see and hear in my mind, to transfer that into art/music for what it is in here (my heart)...is a beautiful challenge.

Goal Implementation

A few things I am implementing and will accomplish. I am looking forward to a shift in my life. The only one stopping me is ME.

The Old "Brit"

My mother pulled out some old photos from several years ago to show me and I was astounded by what I saw. I must say I do not miss those days. I also wasn't aware of how heavy I actually was then. Health makes a world of difference and I do not plan on going back. Let me cement that statement, I WILL NOT go back to what I once was.
